A few words from Laura...

My journey into Nutritional Therapy and alternative medicine started after being diagnosed with endometriosis, following years of very painful periods and emotional upset, when the only solution offered by conventional medicine was a surgical operation – which I refused - and synthetic hormones, both coming with a long list of side effects offering only temporarily suppression of the symptoms.

This condition and the pain become a great  motivator for me to start questioning why I got it and what changes I needed to implement in my life to support my own body to recovery.

I then started researching into alternative medicine and decided to study Naturophatic Nutrition, because the more research I did, the more I realized not only that food plays a fundamental role in terms of health, but also that that there is a very strong correlation between our body and our mind/emotions and our environment, and that in order to get better I had to take a true holistic approach.

I am now very grateful for this condition manifesting in my body at that time, as It brought me where I am now, a very healthier place.

I have a great interest in gut health and believe as Hippocrates quoted "All diseases begins in the Gut", in the body-mind and mind-body connection, in neuroscience, in autoimmune and degenerative conditions, emotions and energy balance.

And of course I have a special interest in female health.

I come from Lake Como, a stunning place in the North of Italy. I have been living in London since 2003 and although I am in love with this city, I do miss the sun and the smell of sun ripped tomatoes!

When I was 18 I read the book “You can Heal your Life” by Louise L. Hay and it changed my life.  I can’t get enough of researching and learning, I have more books than shoes and for an Italian woman this is a big deal!

I worked in the travel industry for many years, prior to becoming a Nutritional Therapist, and I still love travelling and making the most of the local food!

I love a good laugh, spending time with the people I love, to see people smiling, walking in nature and I like to hug trees - it can make you feel instantly happier!

I can’t live without dark chocolate and when I eat broccoli (basically every day) I eat a whole head, and this is because I like it. I cannot tolerate green tea - something I even got confirmed after some genetic test done but I love good quality organic coffee.

My philosophy is that It does not matter what current health state you are in, there is only the present moment and this is the best time to start taking care of yourself. It is the best gift you can give yourself and you'll never want to go back!
