Nutritional Therapy applies nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences to support health, wellbeing and individual care.
Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners assess potential nutritional imbalances and consider how they may relate to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. Each person is treated as unique. Recommendations are therefore personalised around your health history, goals, lifestyle and dietary preferences rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Functional testing may sometimes be used to provide additional information and help inform recommendations.
In Spain, a Dietista is a professional who holds the official qualification of Técnico Superior en Dietética (TSD), established under Royal Decree 536/1995.
The qualification is officially recognised within the Spanish healthcare framework. Its professional scope includes identifying nutritional needs, developing and monitoring dietary plans, and providing nutrition education and health-promotion activities.
Dietary plans for people with specific medical conditions are developed in accordance with the relevant medical and dietetic guidance.
Nutrition can influence many essential functions of the body, including energy production, tissue maintenance, hormone production and metabolic processes.
Personalised nutrition considers your individual health history, nutritional needs, goals, lifestyle and dietary preferences. Where appropriate, health information and functional testing may also be used to develop more informed recommendations.
The aim is to provide practical, evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle recommendations that are realistic, sustainable and appropriate for you.
